Syllabus to calendar

Turn course documents into dates you can review and use.

Give Fasti a syllabus PDF, photo, screenshot, pasted assignment list or several related images. Add context in the same conversation, check the proposed dates, and keep asking follow-up questions before anything is saved.

Prepare the syllabus for a reliable import

Use the clearest version available. A searchable PDF is ideal, but a well-lit photo or screenshot can work when the date, course name and surrounding labels are visible. For a long syllabus, include the pages with the course calendar, assessment table and special date rules.

When several images belong together, select them in one request and add context. Tell the planner whether you want every reading, only graded work, office hours, or a separate reminder before each deadline.

Review the dates like a calendar editor

AI extraction is a starting point, not permission to skip verification. Check the course, year, timezone, all-day status and whether a date is a deadline or an event time. Watch for phrases such as “week of,” “by midnight,” “tentative,” or “subject to change,” because they need different calendar behavior.

  • Confirm ambiguous numeric dates such as 03/04.
  • Check whether midnight means the start or end of the stated day.
  • Keep due dates separate from the study blocks that prepare for them.
  • Reject duplicates already present in the course or device calendar.
  • Use follow-up messages to correct one item without restarting the import.

Organize imported dates by course

Group lectures, labs, assignments and exams under the same course identity. A consistent course code helps the Course Hub connect an imported deadline to the matching class schedule. If an updated syllabus replaces an old one, update the existing import group so old dates do not linger as separate reminders.

After the dates are correct, create preparation time with the study planner. The deadline should remain fixed while study sessions can move around classes, shifts and travel.
